The American League for Peace and Democracy handed out pinback buttons commemorating its 'American Congress for Peace and Democracy.' We print this design in two different t-shirt styles: a unisex version, which is a gray and black ringer, and a woman's version, which is a thin white tee.

Decried by the notorious House Special Committee
on Un-American Activities as "the
largest of the Communist 'front'
movements in the United States,"
The American League for Peace and
Democracy was in fact founded and
supported by a notably diverse
group of individuals, including
members of the Women's Peace
Society, religious leaders, the
War Resisters League, many labor
unions, several well-known
pacifists, officers of the NAACP
and indeed members of the
Communist Party.
Originally founded
as American League Against War
and Fascism in the fall of 1933,
its purpose was primarily to
combat the rise of Hitlerism in
Europe by means other than
war.
The League
disbanded in late 1939.
